  • The Role

    At Last Mile Health, we are all stewards of our reputation and our resources. Do you have a record of clear-eyed and innovative financial leadership in mission-driven organizations? If so, you may be our next Chief Financial Officer (CFO).


    As the CFO reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will develop and monitor Last Mile Health’s (LMH) financial strategy and manage our financial resources during an exciting period of growth and change as we prepare for and execute our next strategic plan. As a member of the Executive Team, you will oversee all fiscal and fiduciary responsibilities for the organization in conjunction with other executive leaders and the Board of Directors. You will be privileged to manage a finance team in our Boston headquarters and provide leadership and technical assistance to our finance teams around the globe.

    What You'll Do

    • Drive LMH’s long-term financial strategy for growth, including developing strategic recommendations and identifying trends and opportunities based on accurate financial modeling and projections, budget planning, and cost management.
    • Serve as LMH’s financial leader by communicating with and providing technical assistance to partners, funders, auditors, and internal team members, including LMH executive leadership.
    • Provide global leadership for budget strategy, budget development and implementation, and cash flow and forecasting in collaboration with LMH Budget Director
    • Ensure full compliance with regulatory and audit requirements and generally accepted accounting principles through oversight of all accounts, reporting systems, and fidelity to global fiscal policies and controls.
    • Lead and coach headquarters Finance team and provide leadership and support to global Finance staff.
    • Be available to travel up to 15%, including international travel.

    What You'll Bring

    • You are a seasoned senior financial leader and team manager, with several years of experience developing and implementing creative financial management strategies in complex social sector organizations.
    • Master’s degree required in a discipline such as business administration, finance, or accounting
    • Strong analytical thinker and expert in financial modelling and analysis
    • Significant experience in or knowledge of nonprofit accounting, including fund and grant accounting, compliance, and reporting.
    • Experience with Aliba MIP or similar financial management software
    • U.S. work authorization

    You'll Impress Us If

    • You have done this work internationally or in the health sector
    • You have experience with USAID and other government grants and overhead cost negotiations
    • You are a CPA
