    General Position Summary

    The Partnerships & Communications Associate will utilize strong written and visual communication skills to develop compelling proposals, donor reports, and communications materials to support the Partnerships & Development Department’s efforts to enhance Last Mile Health’s funding streams as part of a multi-year growth strategy. Alongside content generation, they will help to coordinate donor visits to Last Mile Health’s field sites in remote regions of Liberia as part of the organization’s broader package of donor services. 

    This individual will also support the development and maintenance  of a repository of high-quality images that compellingly portray Last Mile Health's work. They will also play a key role in supporting  strategy development and providing content  for LMH's social media portfolio and digital presence. 

     

    Essential Job Functions

    • As part of the Liberia-based P&D team, research and write grant proposals  and reports. This requires cross-team coordination  across Programs, Research, Monitoring  & Evaluation, National Community  Health Systems, etc., both  to compile necessary programmatic information and to ensure that narratives are  constructed in a way that drives high-quality  programmatic implementation,  with a keen focus on patient impact. Most material will also need to be specifically tailored to donor interests and vernacular, while maintaining programmatic integrity. 
    • Develop informative, compelling, well-designed donor communication materials, including content for quarterly  and annual reports. Reporting necessities frequent coordination between teams  and travel to remore field  sites.
    • Support the development and maintenance of Last Mile Health's digital presence, including a Wordpress-hosted website  and social media accounts.
    • Expand and maintain a repository of compelling, high-quality photos and videos that edited  for publication, queue-up for various mediums, captioned and well-organized. This necessitates a minimum of quarterly travel  to LMH's remote field sites across Liberia and photo editing  knowledge. 
    • Effectively coordinate  across Last Mile Health departments to support the development of strategically-aligned partner field visit itineraries, colloborate across teams to manage the coordination of trip logistics  and operations, and support  the execution of partner visits to Last Mile Health's field sites.

    • Diligently use and support donor relationship and grant management tools, including Salesforce, to track reporting guidelines, deadlines and donor priorities.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required, academic focus in public health or related field a plus.
    • 1-2 years of demonstrable experience in communications and/or donor reporting and/or on a development team. Previous experience living in a developing country context highly preferred.
    • Grant research and/or writing experience for global health projects in low to middle income countries.
    • Experience in crafting targeted communication materials for large-scale, philanthropically funded grant programs and projects.
    • Experience and proven skills in website content and site management.
    • Graphic design skills (InDesign preferred).
    • Photography and photo editing capabilities.
    • Exceptional analytical written communication skills and ability to develop clear and convincing written materials.
    • Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently with limited structural support.
    • Generosity of spirit, sensitivity/diplomacy, and willingness to make sacrifices in service of the mission.
    • Commitment to health and social justice.
    • Flexibility and ability to multi-task in a time-sensitive manner.
    • Comfortable working with a casual but high-performing team.
    • High degree of English fluency required.
